Angelina Jolie has always been one of my idols because she is so helpful and caring towards others. She also has perseverance. She sets a good example for others to hopefully follow. I find her recent article on her decision to have a preventive double mastectomy extremely inspiring, because not only is she stepping out of the private eye, but she is doing it to help every other women in the world.
My grandmother is a two time breast cancer survivor. As someone who has been by her side I not only know how traumatic it is to see your loved one go through that much, but I know that it also puts me at a very high risk. Due to a busy lifestyle, (and just pure laziness) I have put off seeing my doctor about this issue. However I plan on going to see one asap to get checked and know what my chances are. We all take life for granted, and I think that we should plan ahead before it bites us.
